22nd Century Media is an award-winning media company that focuses on delivering local news in both print and digital format for the communities of suburban Chicago and Los Angeles.
22nd Century Media wanted to bring all of the local news entities that it operates under one roof, so to speak. Promet Source’s solution was to build a Drupal site with centralized permissions that lets users explore 11 separate publications on microsites that retain a consistent brand identity. Another challenge was incorporating revenue-generating activities in the form of buying subscriptions and displaying advertising on the site.
Promet used community-supported modules on the Drupal site for 22nd Century Media to build a web presence worthy of the company’s own name: a fully monetized, forward-looking site that unifies all of the valuable content that readers want to get their hands on.
